30 Mil XR-5 Liner
Description
ModuTank Inc. fabricates Seaman Corporation’s XR-5® into fitted tank liners. XR-5 is engineered for the most demanding environments, offering unparalleled resistance to UV radiation, extreme temperatures, and oxidation. Unlike standard high-density polyethylene (HDPE) liners that are prone to environmental stress cracking, XR-5 utilizes a proprietary reinforced ethylene interpolymer (EIP) technology. This unique composition ensures that the material remains flexible and structurally sound over decades of exposure. Whether utilized in floating covers or open-air impoundments, XR-5 provides a low-maintenance, long-term solution that significantly reduces the risk of leaks and environmental contamination.
Designed specifically to handle aggressive liquids, XR-5 sets the benchmark for chemical compatibility. It is the material of choice for secondary containment, wastewater treatment, and floating covers where exposure to acids, oils, and concentrated hydrocarbons is common. While many synthetic liners swell or degrade when they come into contact with fuel or industrial chemicals, XR-5’s molecular structure remains stable. This high level of permeation resistance ensures that hazardous materials are securely contained, protecting both the surrounding ecosystem and your facility’s compliance standing.
One of the primary advantages of XR-5, in addition to the chemical resistance outlined above, is its remarkable dimensional stability. Because it has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion and contraction, it does not suffer from the “bridging” or “wrinkling” common in other geomembranes as temperatures change. This stability allows for a much smoother installation process and a more reliable fit-to-form. Additionally, the material’s high strength-to-weight ratio means larger panels can be prefabricated in a controlled factory environment, reducing the number of field seams required, oftentimes to zero, and significantly lowering overall labor costs and installation timelines.
